Benay-Albee Novelty Company was a mid-20th-century American manufacturer and concessionaire known for producing licensed merchandise, especially novelty hats and souvenirs, including the iconic Mickey Mouse Club Mouseketeer ears. It also produced hats of Donald Duck, Goofy, and other Disney characters.
Founded as a novelty goods company, Benay-Albee rose to prominence in the 1950s through its partnership with Disneyland, Inc., where it operated several retail outlets within the park and became a licensed producer of Disney-themed merchandise. The company's Mouseketeer hats, available in both Mickey and Minnie styles, became emblematic of early Disney fandom and were personally approved by Walt Disney Productions' character merchandiser Vince Jefferds. Benay-Albee's role extended beyond retail, as it also contributed significantly to Disneyland's revenue, with documented earnings from its Tomorrowland operations reaching over seventeen thousand dollars in fiscal year 1957. Beyond Disney, the company also produced campaign hats and other promotional items, some of which are preserved in the collections of the National Museum of American History. Texto do Fandom.
Nota do blog 1: Definitivamente, o chapéu não chegou nem perto do sucesso do Mickey Mouse, ainda que eu prefira o Pato Donald como personagem...kkk!
