Peugeot was the first French manufacturer to build a series of production automobiles in the early 1890s. From that point to the development of its twinoverhead camshaft Grand Prix cars just before WWI, the company offered a broad range of high-quality automobiles. The Type 134 was a single-year model for 1910, powered by a 4.7-liter four-cylinder engine with a four-speed gearbox with shaft-drive. A mere 16 examples are listed as built.

The known history of this Peugeot includes a small feature article in the Horseless Carriage Gazette in 1968, showing the car in both unrestored and restored form while owned by Fernando Ariza of Mexico City, Mexico. All the cars in the article, including a Lion-Peugeot, Hispano-Suiza, and Panhard-Levassor 50 hp racer, appear to have passed to the Petersen Automotive Museum before being offered at a Christie’s auction in June 2000. By then, the Type 134 Peugeot was clearly in need of further restoration work and was missing some of its interior.

Mr. Mullin acquired the Peugeot to sit alongside others of its breed in his collection. Although the car was never refinished, the Type 134 remains an exceptionally rare and worthy candidate for recommissioning. Texto da Gooding Christie's.
